About
Cooking Classes and Communal Meals
Cooking tasty and nutritious meals can be a challenging and time consuming process for most people. Let’s break the process down into simple steps, move at a pace that suits you and have some fun while learning to be safe in the kitchen. Why not stick around afterwards and enjoy your own delicious creations in the company of friends, peers and staff?
Our aim is to share the importance and fun of healthy eating, allowing participants’ to build on fine motor skills used in the kitchen, and to head home with more confidence in their own ability and a recipe book full of meals to keep cooking at home.
These workshops are guided by you - from the meals you’d like to cook, to how long you’d like the workshops to last, and may include any and all of the following:
• Budgeting for meals & finding/designing a recipe
• Transport & supported grocery shopping
• Exploring healthier alternatives
• Safety & hygiene in the kitchen
• Meal preparation
• Cooking & serving
At the end of each workshop, participants are encouraged to stick around and enjoy their own cooking in the company of friends - providing a vital opportunity to build social skills and celebrate their own success.
